‘The Flight Attendant’ & ‘Dead Boys Detectives’ Showrunner Steve Yockey Signs With CAA

EXCLUSIVE: Multiple Emmy-nominated showrunner Steve Yockey has signed with CAA for representation. 

Yockey is the developer and showrunner of Netflix’s upcoming Dead Boys Detectives, based on the DC Comics characters created by Neil Gaiman. Yockey wrote the first episode and serves as showrunner alongside co-showrunner Beth Schwartz. 

Previously, Yockey developed off the book of the same name and served as showrunner on Max’s comedy series The Flight Attendant, starring Kaley Cuoco, which ran for two seasons. The series received nine Emmy Award nominations in its first season, including two for Yockey, Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for writing the pilot episode, in addition to a Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy, and WGA and PGA Award nominations for New Series.

Both The Flight Attendant and Dead Boy Detectives are produced by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, where Yockey is in an overall deal. Under that pact, Yockey is developing additional projects with studio-based Berlanti Productions, as well as Bad Robot, among others. Yockey’s deal continues a relationship with the studio that began in 2016 when he joined the staff of the long-running CW/WBTV drama Supernatural, on which he served as co-executive producer.

His additional writing credits include HBO’s The Brink, Warner Bros.’ Doom Patrol, and MTV’s Scream..

In features, Yockey recently adapted the New York Times bestseller The Maid for Universal.

He also is an accomplished playwright, having produced work throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia, with 15 plays and two collections of short plays published with Samuel French/Concord Theatricals.

Yockey continues to be repped by Stephanie Davis at Wetdog Entertainment, Stone, Meyer, Genow, Smelkinson, and Binder, and Slate PR.
