The Train Derailment is One of the Series’ Biggest Calls

The series will go all out with one of the most harrowing and technical calls to date.

With the train derailment, there are plenty of elements for the series to explore and for all of the characters to play their respective roles in saving the day.

Unfortunately, we’ve seen the grand scope of derailments and what happens to trains, as well as whatever and whoever they are holding.

After the season premiere mostly gave us fun little cases and calls that contributed to the competition between Marjan and Paul, the second installment digs deeper into this catastrophic event.

It’ll likely force Marjan and Paul to set their rivalry aside, focus on the wreckage in front of them, and assist however they can.

The trailer teases a downright apocalyptic affair with dark smoke in plumes puffing up from various train cars scattered about and debris everywhere.

The scene itself appears bigger than the 126 and will likely require more than just them to keep things under control.

In fact, brief glimpses of firefighters scatter through the derailment site, seemingly after a massive explosion.

Sure, some of them are probably our beloved characters, but based on the color of their jackets, others are from other houses.

The Train Derailment Effects are Far-Reaching and Have Layers

There’s nothing simple about this call, and we see a lot of that in the promo.

It’s already gone off the tracks, but then there’s a matter of not knowing what contents are within the train, which will result in other issues.

The promo teases a big explosion and more fire, which was to be expected.

Owen and Mateo have a heart to heart about something.

One or both may be why Owen sounds alarmed about his squad members and their safety.

It’s possible that some of their lives may be in immediate danger with these events.

However, Tommy and TK may also have their hands full due to the far-reaching impact of this derailment.

We see Tommy looking up toward the sky in total wonder and visibly concerned about what’s coming.

We also see TK trying to outrun something while simultaneously running toward another potential emergency with the backboard in his hand.

The promo teases a yellow-looking cloud that has caught some of the characters’ eyes and is worrisome to them.

The Lieutenant Race Gets Complicated

From the stills released for 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Episode 2, Owen appears to be still struggling to decide who he wants to choose as lieutenant.

But Wyatt may be coming along to throw a wrench in whatever Owen has planned.

Could Judd get his job back after all?

Marjan and Paul await the lieutenant revelation.
(Kevin Estrada/FOX)

It’s possible since the synopsis teases that Wyatt will be going to Owen himself to request that Owen allow Judd back to the firehouse in his former position.

It’s something that both Marjan and Paul feared could be possible, but can it come to fruition?

We already know that Owen wouldn’t love anything more than to have his brother in arms back alongside him, as he was the most messed up about Judd leaving in the first place.

And Judd has been itchng to get back into the game and find some semblance of purpose since Wyatt moved on and Grace left.

Wyatt speaks to Owen about Judd's career options.

Marjan and Paul have been competing with each other so much these days that now we have to wonder if that competition will become a three-person one rather than two.

And would Judd even have to compete, or would the position be his to take since he had it before?

One of the only people who doesn’t seem too fazed by this whole ordeal is Mateo, but then, it’s Mateo; do we expect anything less?

Our 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Episode 2 Spoilers Reveals that Tommy’s Relationship Gets Some Spotlight

(Kevin Estrada/FOX)

The synopsis teases that Tommy will make a bold move in her relationship with Trevor.

As far as we know and have seen, those two are happily together, so much so that it can be sickening in the best possible way.

Whatever is going on with their relationship has sparked something in Tommy.

She wants to make a decision, and it seems that it will come to light during the installment.

Their relatively has steadily progressed since Trevor first appeared on the series, and they’ve been able to overcome more than their share of respective issues.

(Kevin Estrada/FOX)

And Tommy has been able to make space and room for this new man in her life and heart while still mourning the loss of her late husband.

The two of them have been on such a great path that we can only hope whatever is weighing on Tommy during this hour has a positive and happy outcome for her and Trevor.
