Guy Ritchie has found success with Sherlock Holmes in the past, and now he’s attached to direct and executive produce Young Sherlock at Amazon Prime Video.

He’s teaming up again with Hero Fiennes Tiffin, with whom he recently worked on “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.”

Tiffin is scheduled to play the lead role.

This series will be a hit because it’s inspired by Andy Lane’s book series Young Sherlock and adapted with Guy Richie’s irrelevant wit and charm.

What is Young Sherlock Season 1 About?

Young Sherlock is adapted from Andy Lane’s best-selling series about Young Sherlock Holmes, and the latest novel was written in 2015.

In the series, Sherlock Holmes will be reimagined as a character caught up in a murder mystery at Oxford University that could threaten his freedom and leave him in disgrace.

He’ll dive into his initial case with little discipline and skills but still discover a global conspiracy that will alter his life forever.

 In Young Sherlock we’re going to see an exhilarating new version of the detective everyone thinks they know in a way they’ve never imagined before,” said Guy Ritchie. “We’re going to crack open this enigmatic character, find out what makes him tick, and learn how he becomes the genius we all love.”

How Many Episodes Will Young Sherlock Season 1 Have?

Young Sherlock Season 1 will have eight episodes as it begins the Sherlock Holmes origin story.

Many Prime Video series have eight-episode counts nowadays, so hopefully, the show will be able to tell an action-packed story and not leave audiences hanging too much.

Who are the Creatives Behind Young Sherlock Season 1?

Young Sherlock has a talented creative team behind it. Matthew Parkhill is the series’s writer, showrunner, and executive producer.

Other executive producers include Guy Ritchie, Andy Lane, Simon Kelton, Ivan Atkinson, Dhana Gilbert, Colin Wilson, and Marc Restesghini.

Initially, Kelton and Atkinson packaged the project before partnering with Gilbert, Restesghini, and Motive Pictures.

They then brought the project to Amazon MGM Studios, where Gilbert and Restesghini currently have deals.

“This exciting, new chapter about one of the world’s best-known literary characters, will delight our global customers with its captivating storytelling” said Vernon Sanders, head of television, Amazon MGM Studios.

“With the brilliant creative team, led by Guy Ritchie and Matthew Parkhill, we will explore untold mysteries of how young Sherlock found his way to a life of truth-seeking.”

Guy Ritchie will direct and produce the series. He’s directed two Sherlock Holmes films starring Robert Downey, Jr., Rachel McAdams, and Jude Law.

He’s eager to give a new perspective on how the Young Sherlock becomes a genius detective.

Ritchie and Tiffin will reunite since they previously worked on The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
