Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice was one of the biggest hits of 1988. It made Michael Keaton even more of a household name than he had already been, and paved the way for both him and director Tim Burton to take on Batman. Yet, neither Keaton nor Burton were in a rush to do a sequel (indeed, it took them 36 years), but that didn’t stop Warner Bros from exploiting the franchise with Beetlejuice: The Animated Series.
