Prime Video‘s The Girlfriend has added six series regulars to the new drama that stars Robin Wright and Olivia Cooke. It was ordered to series in May.
The series, which will be directed by Wright, is based on Michelle Frances’ novel of the same name. Also starring Laurie Davidson (Mary and George), and Waleed Zuaiter (Gangs of London), The Girlfriend follows Laura (Wright), who has a great career, a loving husband (Zuaiter) and a beloved only son (Davidson). Cracks begin to show on the surface of her seemingly perfect life when Daniel brings home a girlfriend, Cherry (Cooke), who Laura becomes convinced isn’t who she says she is. Wanting to protect Daniel, Laura will do anything to prove he is being deceived.
Tanya Moodie (Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2) has been cast as Isabella, Laura’s best friend and mother to Brigitte. Also joining the cast are Shalom Brune-Franklin (Baby Reindeer) as Brigette, who once dated Daniel; Karen Henthorn (Passenger) as Tracey, Cherry’s mom; Anna Chancellor (My Lady Jane) as Lilith, a trailblazing, straight-talking artist; Leo Suter (Vikings) as Nicholas, Cherry’s ex-boyfriend; and Francesca Corney (The Buccaneers) as Millie, who is engaged to Nicholas.
