Suspicion will not be returning for a second season. Deadline reports that the streaming service quietly cancelled the Uma Thurman (above, right) drama a year ago.

Starring Thurman, Kunal Nayyar, Noah Emmerich, Georgina Campbell, Elyes Gabel, Elizabeth Henstridge, Tom Rhys-Harries, and Angel Coulby, the Apple TV+ series follows the kidnapping of the 21-year-old son of a businesswoman (Thurman) from New York City. The event is caught on camera, and the video goes viral. Five people have their lives turned upside down after London police identify them as suspects in the case.

The thriller series, inspired by the Israeli drama False Flag, was ordered in March 2020, but production was delayed until 2021 due to the pandemic. Rob Williams served as showrunner.

The eight-episode season arrived in February 2022. The show received generally positive reviews but some were unhappy with the ending. The season finale brought the story to a close so a potential second season would have likely had to focus on a new story.

What do you think? Did you watch the Suspicion TV series? Did you enjoy this thriller? Would you have checked out a second season?
