Stephen Colbert Discusses The January 6 Committee And Donald Trump Eating Sensitive Documents At The White House

TV

Tonight on Live With Stephen Colbert, the host doesn’t hold back his opinions on Trump and the January 6 committee.

According to Colbert, the White House records turned over to the committee “had to be tapped back together by National Archives staff because they had been ripped up.” They’re lucky to be receiving any of the information, but not if its in pieces. Its a violation of the Presidential Records Act to tear up documents but the host surmises why those papers were destroyed in the first place. “The former President had a very good reason: he was afraid of going to jail.”

Reports say that destroying evidence at the White House was apart of Donald Trump’s filing system. Of course, Colbert took the opportunity to make light of the situation. “Hey what happened to Rocko? I thought he was going to testify against us? Well, let’s just say Rocko is filing with the fishes.”

Trump’s advisors reported that he once ate a sensitive document, “…and he would have eaten more sensitive documents, but he ran out of ranch.”
