Another day, another emergency sees the lifeguards on the North Shore sprinting to action.
Rescue: HI-Surf serves up another emergency we haven’t quite seen before, as seen in this exclusive clip from Rescue: HI-Surf Season 1 Episode 14.
With a cliff jumper in trouble, Sonny, Laka, and Kainalu race to the scene to help the person in need.
For this particular rescue, it looks like the team is spread apart, as Sonny answers the call for help while at headquarters, and Laka and Kainalu are out on the island changing a flat tire when they get the call.
From there, time is always of the essence, and with each passing minute, the victim could be in further danger. It’s a good thing Laka gets the call because he knows a shortcut that will get them and the rescue ski there in good time.
Laka and Kainalu make a good team, but you have to wonder how Sonny will feel about Kainalu riding the skis when he’s the rookie, and Laka is the veteran lifeguard.
The last time we saw Kainalu on the skis during Rescue: HI-Surf Season 1 Episode 13, things didn’t go so well, but through no fault of his own.

Laka trusting him to take the lead there shows his faith in him, and that’s good for Kainalu as he continues his quest to become certified to ride the skis.
Outside of this rescue, it will be a stacked hour with Hina dealing with issues at home and Will and Em still figuring out their relationship in the aftermath of their “breakup.”
Since Hina moved out of her family home, we haven’t seen much interaction with those closest to her, so it’ll be good to check back in with them and build more of Hina’s backstory.
Hina’s an appealing character; seeing more of her outside of work and interactions with Kainalu will be nice.

Seeing the soap opera between Will and Em continue on and on may not be quite as nice.
Em’s struck up something with Sean, but is she over Will?
It certainly doesn’t appear that she is, and that makes sense, considering how things ended between them.
But until these two push aside all the hurt feelings, awkwardness, and pain, they will be in this weird phase where they don’t know how to act around one another.
And they certainly don’t need to bring other people into their drama.

Both should be focused on healing and moving forward, but that’s much easier said than done when you’re heartbroken and forced to see your exes’ faces on a daily basis.
It’s looking like another packed hour of the action drama, and we’ve got a look at the pulse-pounding rescue that will see the lifeguards in some choppy waters trying to save the day yet again.
