Tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Kimmel recalls his recent trip to D.C. and expresses his feelings about U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
He took the trip to the nation’s capital this past weekend to present the Mark Twain prize to former Daily Show host Jon Stewart. “A lot of people there were worried I might get locked up being in the same town as the Klan Mom, Marjorie Taylor Greene. Who you may know–reported me to the Capitol police last week.”
Greene 100 percent called the Capitol Police to file a complaint against Jimmy Kimmel over a joke. The Georgia Republican tweeted a clip of Kimmel from last week in which the host said about Greene, “This woman, Klan mom, is especially upset with the three Republican senators who said they’ll vote yes on Ketanji Brown Jackson, who’s nominated for the Supreme Court. She tweeted, ‘Murkowski, Collins, and Romney are pro-pedophile. They just voted for KBJ.’ Wow, where is Will Smith when you really need him?”
He reacted fairly calmly to the whole ordeal and mentioned how nothing became of the complaint. “ I actually met some of the Capitol police – I think I’m gonna be OK,” he said. “There was no APB put out. I was able to walk freely around the city.”
Just because he acted in a calm manner, doesn’t mean he isn’t going to take yet another hit at Greene after all that. Kimmel doesn’t want her to forget she currently is in hot water over her involvement with the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021.
“But Marjorie – is busy getting sued by a group of her constituents in Georgia – who believe she is ineligible to run for re-election – because of her role in the attack on January 6th.”
He continues, “According to the 14th amendment – anyone who takes part in an insurrection or rebellion – is barred from holding office,” says Kimmel. “So the Green Goblin had to testify under oath for almost four hours – where she played even dumber then she actually is.”
