California On Location Awards 2024 Winners Revealed

Hacks, 9-1-1, Bookie and Unstoppable were among the winners as Film Liaisons in California Statewide handed out its 29th annual California on Location Awards tonight at the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City. See the full winners list below.

The COLAs recognize these exceptional location managers and teams, public employees and production companies who help facilitate on-location filming across California.

“Despite the challenges of this past season, this has been an accomplished year for filming in California,” COLA Chair and FLICS Immediate Past President Sabrina Jurisich said in a statement. “Recognizing the difficulties that persist for so many of our industry friends, we were grateful to honor the creativity and perseverance that define this industry and celebrate our finalists excellent work.”

Longtime location manager Ilt Jones, whose career spans three dozen feature films and TV series including several Marvel and Transformers pics, was honored with the COLA Lifetime Achievement Award. It is bestowed exclusively on location professionals who have shaped the landscape of their field, the group said.

This year’s COLA finalists represented 43 film, TV and commercial projects, including 25 that filmed exclusively in California and 13 that were filmed 100 percent on location. Together, these projects also reported more than 1,000 shoot days, across more than 1,000 locations covering 22 counties and 76 cities within California.
