Channel 4 Behind Doc On Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
Channel 4 is making a documentary about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, the disgraced rapper who is set to go on trial this year. Lion TV’s Diddy: In Plain Sight will explore the world of Combs, from the highs of his extreme success to his abusive behavior and some of what went on behind the scenes at his infamous White Parties. Having initially been accused of sexual assault and abuse by his former partner, he is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, with trial set to start on May 5. The doc is directed by Gussy Sakula-Barry, (Loaded: Lads, Mags and Mayhem) and executive produced by Daniel Pearl. “The story of Diddy goes well beyond the horrific allegations against one man,” said Pearl. “As so often, it’s a story of much broader complicity by so many people – motivated by fame, money and power. This documentary reinforces Lion Television’s reputation for consequential and journalistic, news making programmes that delve beyond the headlines to understand the root cause of a story.” In 2023, Channel 4 made an In Plain Sight doc about Russell Brand, which included a number of allegations against the comedian and TV host.

The Amazing Maurice and Bollywoof producer Cantilever Media is launching a sales outfit. Kazoo Films will be dedicated to animated features for kids and families. Run by Cantilever founder Andrew Baker, Kazoo plans to release up to four films annually, including both Cantilever Media productions and collaborations with international producers and sales agents. “We have identified a gap in the market for a film distribution company that focuses solely on animated feature films,” said Baker. “Kazoo Films’ slate will prioritize independent, commercial family films that we can release theatrically in the UK & Ireland.”
