CAA Signs Gary Neville

CAA has signed British former soccer player and pundit Gary Neville. The U.S. agent’s sports division has signed the ex-Manchester United and England international for exclusive representation in all areas. Neville was part of one of the most successful Man United teams of all time and has subsequently been a fixture on British TV screens with Sky and ITV for more than a decade, lending his analytical mind to soccer punditry. He also helms YouTube channel and podcast The Overlap, which is made by his indie Buzz 16, and has interviewed the likes of Tyson Fury and Wayne Rooney for the show. Four Overlap specials were commissioned by ITV during the recent Euros and featured Neville with former Soccer players Ian Wright, Roy Keane and Jill Scott. Neville has been signed by the CAA Sports Media team in London that also reps the likes of Naomi Schiff, Laura Woods, Gareth Bale and Frank Lampard.

ARD & ORF Explore ‘Hundertdreizehn’ Drama Series

Germany’s ARD and Austria’s ORF have ordered a six-part drama series that explores the impact of a catastrophic traffic accident that leaves a person dead. Hundertdreizehn (One-Hundred and Thirteen) will follow six connected people, whose lives are changed by the event. According to a study by the German Federal Ministry of Transport, an average of 113 people’s lives are changed by such accidents. The show will track two storylines, one following a trio of investigators (Lia von Blarer, Robert Stadlober, David Hugo Schmitz) in their search for a cause of the accident and the other the fate of the relatives (Anna Schudt, Patricia Aulitzky) of the bus driver (Felix Kramer) involved. Each episode focuses on a different main character affected by the accident, in anthological order. Rick Ostermann is the director, with Arndt Stüw providing the screenplay. Filming has been underway in Vienna since the end of June, with additional locations in Cologne and Berlin on the schedule. Broadcast is planned for fall 2025. Moritz Polter’s ITV Studios-backed label Windlight Pictures is producing with Satel Film co-producing and WDR and ARD Degeto Film for ARD and ORF the commissioners. Polter, Dirk Eggers and Heinrich Ambrosch are exec producers, co-executive producers are Cosima Degler and the producer is Herwig Krawinkler. Commissioning editors are Elke Kimmlinger (WDR), Christoph Pellander (ARD Degeto Film), and Sabine Weber (ORF). Funding comes from the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg, Nordmedia, German Motion Picture Fund, and FISA+. ITV Studios is an associate producer and the international distributor.
