Garret Dillahunt (Sprung, Fear the Walking Dead) is set to recur in the new ABC drama High Potential. The series is set to premiere this fall.

Created by Drew Goddard based on the French format, the series stars Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, a single mom with three kids and an exceptional mind, who helps solve an unsolvable crime when she rearranges some evidence during her shift as a cleaner for the police department.

When they discover she has a knack for putting things in order because of her high intellectual potential, she is brought on as a consultant to work with a by-the-book seasoned detective Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), and together they form an unusual and unstoppable team.

Dillahunt will portray Lieutenant Melon, a bit of a jerk who heads up the Robbery Division of the LAPD Precinct, but he’d much rather be running Major Crimes. He believes he was unfairly passed over in favor of Selena and finds every opportunity to remind her.

High Potential also stars Javicia Leslie as Daphne, Deniz Akdeniz as Lev “Oz” Osman, Amirah J as Ava, Matthew Lamb as Elliot and Judy Reyes as Selena.

The drama is produced by ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios. Goddard and Sarah Esberg executive produce for Goddard Textiles, as well as Pierre Laugier and Anthony Lancret of Itinéraire Productions, a UGC company and Jean Nainchrik of Septembre Productions, a Mediawan Company. Olson serves as producer. Todd Harthan recently joined as showrunner and executive producer.

Dillahunt starred in the recently released The Dead Don’t Hurt directed by Viggo Mortensen and in the feature Red Right Hand opposite Orlando Bloom and Andie MacDowell. Up next, he will star in the upcoming features The Huntsman and Sarah’s Oil and will recur on Peacock’s new series Hysteria.

His recent credits include starring in and executive producing the comedy series Sprung along with Greg Garcia for Freevee/Sony; a recurring role in the Starz drama Hightown‘s third season; Amazon’s A Million Miles Away with Michael Pena; Gray Matter, a new Project Greenlight film for Max; Where The Crawdads Sing based on the acclaimed novel; and a guest starring role on Ghosts Of Beirut for Showtime.

Dillahunt is repped by D2 Management and Independent Artist Group.
