EXCLUSIVE: Here’s a first look at The Real Housewives of Nairobi, the latest chapter in the Universal International Studios reality format.
The series debuts on Showmax in Africa on February 23, with new episodes dropping every Thursday, following a new group of influential women, who live lavish lifestyles in Kenya’s capital city.
Shortly after announcing The Real Housewives of Abuja, which marks the second Nigerian instalment of the smash-hit franchise, Showmax has revealed the cast for The Real Housewives of Nairobi(RHONairobi), premiering on Showmax on 23 February 2023, with new episodes dropping every Thursday.
First announced in September 2022, The Real Housewives of Nairobi will follow five influential and successful women as they navigate their lavish lifestyles, relationships and careers in Nairobi, Kenya.
And the housewives are luxury fragrance and skin care entrepreneur Susan Kaittany, media personality Vera Sidika, influencer and fashion collector Sonal Maherali, actress Minne Kariuki and interior designer Lisa Christoffersen.
Denise Mwende, Showmax Content Specialist in East Africa said: “Each of the ladies has a strong personality and sure identity of themselves. They are hardworking, affluent, influential and unapologetic women who are not ashamed to live large and live well because they have earned it. They’re also a representation of the diverse communities we have in Kenya.”
The series produced by Eugene Mbugua’s D&R Studios (formerly Young Rich Television). It’s based on the Real Housewives franchise NBCUniversal Formats, which is part of Universal International Studios.
The version joins other African adaptations such as RHO Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban and Lagos, which was among the top 10 most-watched shows of 2022 on Showmax in Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa. A version set in Abuja, Nigeria, debuts on Showmax on 17 February 2023.
